SAFETY DEVICE FOR DRIVING COLUMPES DESCRIPTION Object of the invention
The present invention, as expressed in the statement of this specification refers to a safety device for driving swings that has the purpose of avoiding scares and abruptness in the swing momentum, so that with the device of the invention manages to ensure the momentum of the swings without danger to users, especially when it comes to young children. Therefore the device of the invention is applicable to the safety of the swings to avoid shocks, especially to the smaller ones during the swinging of the swings; highlighting also the fact that with the device of the invention it is also possible to slow the mobility of the swings in a smooth, fast and safe way whenever the need arises.
Technical problem to solve and background of the invention
The swings basically comprise pairs of elongated elements in combination seat platforms in which the users are accommodated to propel themselves and thus enjoy the swings, so that said swings normally hang from a support structure formed by two vertical frames in combination with a horizontal bar in which upper ends of the pairs of elongated elements are anchored, such as chains or braces, at whose lower ends the seat platforms are connected.
There is also the possibility that the swing drive is done by another person; for example when users are children who have not yet learned to push themselves. In these cases, a person pushes the swing through his seat platform or on the user himself, each time the swing moves backwards during its tilting or pendular movement with continuous forward and backward movements.
In these cases, the controlled impulse of the swing can be difficult, especially when it comes to young children, so that the most normal thing is that the continuous impulses of the swing are not progressive and uniform; which can cause instability of the

child resting on the seat platform, and it may be the case that the child falls to the floor. Likewise, when the immediate need to stop the swing arises, this operation must be performed somewhat abruptly, with the consequent danger that this entails for the child.
Description of the invention
In order to achieve the objectives and avoid the inconveniences mentioned in the previous sections, the invention proposes a safety device for driving swings; where the swings comprise in principle pairs of elongated structures and seating platforms that hang on said elongated structures, on each of which a user can sit to enjoy swinging.
The safety device of the invention comprises a horizontal cross member configured to rotate about its longitudinal axis by means of a drive mechanism.
The elongated structures of the swings are joined in solidarity with the horizontal crossbar; where the rotation of the horizontal crossbar drags the swings generating in them a pendular movement.
In a first embodiment of the invention, the safety device comprises at least a first drive mechanism that includes:
- an upper bar integral to an end section of the horizontal crossbar.
- a lower handle bar as a handle.
- two lateral elements that join the ends of the upper bar and the lower grab bar.
In a second embodiment of the invention, the safety device comprises at least a second drive mechanism that includes:
- an upper bar integral to an end section of the horizontal crossbar.
- a flyer.
- two lateral elements that join the ends of the upper bar to two opposite steering wheel connections; where the steering wheel rotation rotates the horizontal crossbar.
The steering wheel of the second drive mechanism comprises a bottom bar that includes

the opposite connections of the steering wheel where ends of the side elements are connected.
The steering wheel further comprises an annular gripping body and a front plate attached to the gripping annular body; where the bottom bar is attached to the front plate. In one embodiment of the invention, opposite flywheel connections comprise rings.
The steering wheel is coupled to a fixed axis; where said steering wheel can rotate around said fixed axis. In one embodiment of the invention, the fixed axis is integral with a support attached to one of the two lateral frames that support the device of the invention.
The device of the invention further comprises a fixed stop that limits the rotation of the horizontal crossbar. Said limitation of the rotation of the horizontal crossbar comprises the contact of the upper bar on the fixed stop, which in an embodiment of the invention is located below the upper bar.
The elongated structures of the swings comprise pairs of tubes with a telescopic coupling that include means to regulate and fix the length of said elongated structures.
Said means for regulating the length of the elongated structures comprise facing holes located in the pairs of tubes with telescopic coupling; where anchors are introduced through said opposite holes.
The horizontal crossbar is supported on extreme supports that are part of the side frames; where, in one embodiment of the invention, the horizontal crossbar is supported on said end supports with interposition of bearings where end sections of the horizontal crossbar are embedded, thus facilitating the rotation of the horizontal crossbar and in general a better functioning of the safety device is achieved. of the invention.
Considering the realization of the first drive mechanism, the possibility is provided that the lower grab bar is articulated by its center to a fixed axis integral to one of the frames.

Figure 5.- Shows an elevation view of a part of the second swing drive mechanism.
Figure 6.- Shows a sectional view of the second swing drive mechanism according to section A-B of Figure 5.
Description of an embodiment of the invention
Considering the numbering adopted in the figures, the safety device for driving the swings comprises a horizontal cross member 1, with rotational mobility around its longitudinal axis 1a, where the rotation of said horizontal cross member 1 is carried out by means of a drive mechanism.
On said horizontal crossbar 1 are fixed first ends of elongated structures pairs 2 that have a few second ends of which hang a seating platform 3 in which some users are accommodated to be able to swing, either by themselves or by the mechanism of impulsion.
In the embodiment shown in the figures, sections of the horizontal crossbar 1 are coupled to end supports of two lateral frames 4 with interposition of bearings 5, so that the incorporation of said bearings 5 facilitates the rotation of the horizontal crossbar 1 during the pendular swinging of the swings fixed to said horizontal crossbar 1.

In a first embodiment of the invention, the horizontal crossbar 1 rotates by transmitting a first drive mechanism 6 comprising an upper bar 7 integral with an end section of the horizontal crossbar 1; a lower grab bar 8 as a handle and two lateral elements 9 that join the ends of the upper bar 7 and lower grab bar 8. In the figures said lateral elements 9 comprise chains.
In a second embodiment of the invention, the safety device comprises a second drive mechanism 10 comprising an upper bar 7 'integral with an end section of the horizontal cross member 1; a rotating steering wheel 11 and two lateral elements 9 ’joining the ends of the upper bar 7’ to two opposite connections 12 of the steering wheel 11. In this second embodiment, the lateral elements 9 ’also comprise chains.
In line with what was said in the previous paragraph, the handwheel 11 includes an annular gripping body 13, a front plate 14 attached to the annular gripping body 13 and a lower bar 8 ’attached to the front plate 14; where the bottom bar 8 ’includes the opposite connections 12 of the steering wheel 11 in which the ends of the side elements 9’ are connected. In one embodiment, said opposite connections 12 comprise rings.
The steering wheel 11 is coupled to a fixed shaft 15 integral with one end of a support 16 connected to one of the side frames 4 as shown more clearly in Figures 4 and 5.
In this situation, when a user turns the handwheel 11 by grasping it with their hands by the annular gripping body 13, the lower bar 8 'adopts different inclined positions in line with other parallel inclined positions of the upper bar 7' and obviously in this operation Turn of the steering wheel 11 transmits the rotation to the horizontal crossbar 1 by dragging the swings generating a pendular movement in them.
The steering wheel 11 makes the swings more attractive for children and is also more manageable and facilitates the momentum of the swings.
Equivalently, in the realization of the first drive mechanism 6, to carry out the rotation of the horizontal crossbar 1, the user grasps with his hands the lower grab bar 8 performing a movement that is transmitted to the upper bar 6 and obviously

to the horizontal crossbar 1 generating in this a rotating movement that drags the swings causing in them also a pendular movement.
Considering the first drive mechanism 6, it is possible to adapt it to the required height of the user who will be in charge of giving impulse. For this, the lateral elements 9 can be shortened or lengthened, thus placing the lower grab bar 8 at a greater or lesser height.
In one embodiment, the side elements 9 form part of a single closed loop chain that passes through the inside of the upper and lower bars 7 when they have a tubular configuration, so that in this case the first drive mechanism 6 adapts to the height of the user who drives the swing by shortening or lengthening the closed loop chain.
On the other hand, to limit the angular amplitude of the rotation of the horizontal crossbar 1, and therefore of the angular amplitude of the swings, a fixed stop 17 is provided on which the upper bar 7, 7 'contacts in the position of maximum amplitude In an embodiment of the invention said maximum angular amplitude is 45 °. The fixed stop 17 is connected to an upper part of at least one of the side frames 4, while said fixed stop 17 is located below the upper bar 7, 7 ′ integral with the horizontal cross member 1.
The elongated structures 2 of the swings comprise pairs of telescopic tubes 2a, 2b, so that each pair of them is immobilized with one another by means of anchoring screws 18 associated with nuts 19 to ensure their immobilization. One end of each pair of telescopic tubes 2a, 2b is fixed at one end superior to the horizontal crossbar 1, while at the other opposite lower end of each pair of telescopic tubes 2a, 2b the seat platform 3 of the swing is coupled, either directly or by a chain structure 20.
In the embodiment shown in the figures, each pair of telescopic tubes 2a, 2b comprises a first tube 2a of greater diameter fixed to the horizontal crossbar 1 and a second tube 2b where the seat platform 3 is coupled. The telescopic tubes 2a, 2b have a succession of facing holes 21 so as to be able to vary the length of the elongated structures of the swings, so that through said facing holes 21 the anchoring screws 18 are introduced to fix the desired length of the
elongated swing structures.
Considering the realization of the first drive mechanism (6), the possibility is provided that the lower grab bar (8) is articulated by its center to a fixed shaft (15 ') integral with one of the frames ( 4).
5
On the other hand, a first option is provided where a single drive mechanism 6, 10 located in correspondence with one end of the horizontal cross member 1 is included; and a second option where two drive mechanisms 6, 10 located in correspondence with the two ends of the horizontal cross member 1 are included.
10
The device of the invention is also applicable to wooden swings which are those that are normally mounted in parks and gardens, so that in these cases to assemble the device of the invention, the horizontal bar from which the devices hang is simply removed first. conventional swings and the horizontal crossbar 1 is then mounted together with its bearings 5 and elongated structures 2 integral with said horizontal crossbar 1. To this end, some brackets are attached to the top of the wooden side frames to be able to better fit the horizontal crossbar 1 together with its bearings; resulting in this relatively simple and fast operation because it is easy to work the wood material. It should be noted in 80% of the parks and gardens 20 are mounted wooden swings.
